• What services do you offer?

We offer different types of translation services for different requirements. Please take a look at our product page for details about each of our services. In any case, if you are not sure, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to allocate you a Project Manager (PM) who will work with you to find the best possible solution to your needs.

• What is localization?

Localization is adaptation of a text to suit the culture of the geographic location of the language. Localization is best recommended for text with emotional context where the same feelings or emotions are required in the translated text.

• Do you do proofreading?

Yes, we offer both monolingual proofreading and checking & editing of translated materials. Monolingual proof reading works best if you are not sure about the quality of the translated material and require checks for grammar, spelling errors, punctuation, terminological errors.

With our Fully Managed Translation & Editing service, proofreading by a 2nd translator is included in the price. If you have had your translation elsewhere or in-house and would like to check the quality of the translation and correct any mistakes, you can use our proofreading service.

• Do you offer transcription services?

Yes, this involves an audio or a video file format file and a translator will listen/watch the file content and either write down the language being listened to or listen and translate into a different language.

• Can you provide certified translation services or notarization?

Yes, this is different in every case and every country so we advise you to contact one of our Project Managers (PM) so we can serve your exact requirements.

• Can I have a sample/test translation?

Yes, we offer 250 words as a sample so you can be sure about the quality of our translators.

• What quality guarantee does TRAVOD offer?

Our comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) ensures that any work completed by our translators are of top quality.

We have a stringent and thorough checking of all translators that we hire. Any translator we hire will be native speakers living in the country of their main language with 5 or more years of experience. Our Project Managers will work with you at every level to ensure we understand the requirements of the project and we work closely with our translators to ensure this is conveyed in their work. All of our services include at least one revision included in the package.

• How does TRAVOD guarantee confidentiality?

A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) can be signed with the client prior to the work to guarantee confidentiality. You must let us know if you require a NDA.

• Do you use native speaking translators?

Yes, every translator that we work with are native speakers and are located in the country that the text is intended (in-country translators)

• How does TRAVOD charge for its service?

We charge per word depending on the language and level of difficulty. There is however, a minimum charge for every project. You can calculate the approximate estimate of your quote here. However this is only an estimate and in some cases we may charge more/less depending on the project. Therefore, it is important to get in touch with us.

• Why do prices differ between languages?

Some languages are rarer or more popular than others. In addition, since we use in-country translators (translators live in the country where they are native), the fees for the translators often reflect the economy of the country.

• Does cheaper price mean lower quality?

A cheaper price does not mean lower quality but the level of service of translation required. For example a more technical and specialized translation will often require more time and as a result this is reflected in the quote. Also, in some of our packages, multiple revisions and a review by a 2nd translator is included, this means more time spent on the translation and therefore extra costs.

• What discounts do TRAVOD currently offer?

We currently offer an introductory discount of 5%, 10%, 15% depending on the number of words ordered.

We have a client loyalty scheme to recognize our most valued clients. There are currently 3 levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold. The discounts enjoyed range from 5%, 10%, 20% for our Bronze, Silver and Gold members. More details about the scheme can be found here [LINK]

We also have a referral scheme. If you refer another client to TRAVOD both you and the referred client will receive 500 free words to be redeemed against a future order with TRAOVD..

• What is the main currency used in TRAVOD?

We accept USD or EUR.

• Are there any hidden costs to TRAVOD’s rates?

No, the quote that you receive is all-inclusive.

• Are there any cancellation fees?

Due to the nature of the work, if the work is cancelled once the translation has begun you will only be charged for the number of words the translator has already translated. In any such case, you should contact your Project Manager.

• When would TRAVOD ask for partial payment in advance?

For large projects we may ask for a partial payment in advance and the rest to be payable after delivery. This will depend on the size of the project, however, if you have had previously large projects with TRAVOD, we will be willing to negotiate. In any instance, please contact your Project Manager.

• Can I get a lower quote if I give TRAVOD more time?

This can be discussed with a Project Manager when calculating a quote because in many cases the amount of discount will depend on the translator’s workload and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

• Does it cost to receive a quote for a project?

No, quotes are free. Simple contact us or submit a quote request and we will respond within the hour during our opening hours between 7am GMT to 11PM GMT.

• How can I set up an account with TRAVOD?

An account will be set up for you once place an order with TRAVOD.

• When will I receive the invoice?

When the final translated work is delivered, an invoice will be sent to you. Our standard credit period is 30 days and 45 days for our Silver members and 60 days for our Gold members.

• When should I pay the invoice and how can I pay?

Details about the credit terms will be made clear on the invoice. Please let us know if you require more time. We accept Paypal or a bank account transfer. All the payment options and details will be explained on the invoice.

• How flexible are your payment terms? Can you extend the payment terms?

Please let us know in advance if you feel you will not be able to pay during the credit period. We will try our best to accommodate your needs but this is not guaranteed. We have different credit period for different types of clients. Our standard clients have 30 days credit period, Silver clients have 45 days and Gold clients have 60 days.

• Can I receive a monthly invoice of all my translations for that month?

Yes, however, you must have been a regular client with TRAVOD for at least 3 months to enjoy this feature and must inform us.

• What stages are involved in the translation process?

There are 5 main stages involved.
1. Establishing your main requirements: you will be allocated a Project Manager and will work together to establish your exact needs.
2. Quotation: Your Project Manager will send you an exact comprehensive quotation detailing all costs and items including any applicable discounts.
3. Order Placed: Just let your Project Manager know if you are happy and to go ahead with the project.
4. Translation: We allocate a handpicked translator to suit your needs and we work with the translator to ensure the finished translation is up to your expectations. Your Project Manager may contact you to clarify on behalf of the translator.
5. Delivery and Invoicing: Your finished translation is delivered to your specifications along with the invoice for the work.

• How can I get a quote for a project and how long will it take for an exact quote?

You can call us 6am GMT to 11pm GMT on +44(0)2071931852 (UK) or +16316295163 (US) and we will be more than happy to talk with you. Alternatively, you can email us at pm@travod.com and we will respond usually within a few minutes during our opening hours.

• What information do you need for an accurate quote?

We require the service level you require along with the source and target language, deadline, word amount, the source file and anything else relevant to the translation. Your Project Manager will explain if there is anything else we need.

• Who will be responsible for my translation?

You will be allocated a dedicated Project Manager (PM) who will work closely with you. You will be given their direct number and email address. Your PM will be your first point of contact involving any issues related to the translation work.

• Can I choose the translators who work on my translation work?

Yes, we will send you a ‘blind’ CV (CV without personal information) of the translator to you. If for some reason you are not satisfied with the CV of the translator we will be happy to work with you to find a translator best suited for your needs.

• Will I be charged for subsequent revisions of the finished translation?

We allow at least one revision request for all our translation services and two for Fully Managed Translation & Editing or three for Transcreation service.

• Can you handle extremely short turnaround times?

In most cases, this will be possible. A translator can usually translate up to 2,500 words a day. If the project is large, we may need to use multiple translators at the same time to meet your deadline. However, your Project Manager will explain this if needed. In such a case, we may charge extra because of the additional logistical time required to co-ordinate the project.

• How do you select your translators?

We personally select all our translators to ensure only the best are recruited for TRAVOD. Our stringent recruitment process means you can be rest assured that the translators working on your project will the some of the best in the language you need. We guarantee that our translators have at least 5 years experience, have credentials and are native language speakers.

• How long does it take for my feedback to be implemented?

Due to the nature of the work, each project will mean different times. Therefore, please speak to your Project Manager to discuss this.
